Changing electricity markets
The rapid growth of renewable energy generation is great. Energy sources such as wind and solar provide cheap power and have very low environmental footprints however, they are highly variable in their energy production.
At the moment, electricity consumers do not take this variable energy production into account, resulting in the activation of fossil fueled power plants. This does not only result in large amounts of greenhouse gases, but is also much more expensive. Our solution balances the power grid by matching demand with the increasingly volatile electricity supply.

There is a mismatch between renewable energy generation and energy consumption. With the increasingly rapid growth of renewable energy generation, the electricity markets are becoming more and more volatile.

building solutions for our ever changing and challenging electricity market and thereby accelerating the clean energy transition.
While working in the energy sector Maurits Engelsman discovered the deep challenges the energy industry is facing due to the rapid growth of renewable energy assets. He realised that high volatility of the energy prices is creating a complex and imbalanced power market and that to restore the balance, it is necessary for demand to be shifted to moments when renewables are producing electricity. And so the idea to address the demand side of the energy balance was born. Solvaris Energy, Sol standing for both the Sun and the Solution, matches electricity demand with electricity supply and by doing so unlocks up to 30% savings for the client.
